Getting SMART with SDF and the Vital Pulp!

Despite caries risk assessment and therapeutic tools that have been in use for decades, dental caries remain a significant problem throughout many communities. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF), a unique chemotherapeutic agent used with or without glass ionomer cement (GIC), is a great option to provide to address caries. Furthermore, when caries have injured pulp there are some options to consider when treating vital pulp. This course will review the science and proper placement of SDF and GIC restorations as well as vital pulp therapy.
